Welcome to NewSong Bangkok! |
|
We'd love for you to check us out! I think you would find our community and our space a pretty cool place to be! You may even find, like we did, that doing church is not such a bad thing! We try not to be religious. Nor are we religion bashers. We try to have an open heart and wide eyes to see where God wants us to go. In a real way we are like explorers. We don't always get it right. We just don't want the same old same old. We want to read new maps of the new world. We want to see a mysterious creator God in people and events around us. We want to connect to our culture. We want to connect our culture back to God. If we just keep looking, I'm sure we'll see the imprint of God right before our eyes. I love it! So feel free to hang with us, an hour, a day, a week, or even longer. We'd love to hang out with you too!

I was watching ‘Friends’ the other day, season 5. It’s the one where Monica and Phoebe decide to work together on a surprise birthday party for Rachel. True to her controlling personality, Monica delegates Phoebe to get cups. Cups. And ice. That’s it. Monica is so afraid Phoebe will ‘mess up’ and make her look bad as a party planner. Cups. And ice. Phoebe quickly sees what Monica is doing, and decides that Monica will “rue the day” she delegated the cups. The day of the party Phoebe arrives with giant trash bags full of… cups. She made decorations from cups. Strings of cups were hanging as garland. Cup mobiles decorated the ceiling. She made cup lamps, put candles in cups and these were not just plain paper cups. These were spectacular multicolored cups. And ice. Huge buckets of ice offered ice cubes, shaved ice and even dry ice. Then from the cone-shaped cups and shaved ice Phoebe made snow cones for everyone. Her cups were a hit!
After our RAW series, we pray that you are ready to walk beyond the crippling disappointments and pain and grow in your faith life. To help you do that, this week at NewSong we are kicking off our new series called BRING IT! You know by now that NewSong is NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT. Everyone plays. Your scars don’t disqualify you. We believe you have something to bring to the game, or the party, or the verge. You might think you have nothing but a pile of cups… but with a bit of Divine creativity even paper cups can become so much more. So get ready this month to bring something so that “we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, full alive like Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-13) |
